A kiteboarder dances across the water on the southern end of Malibu. The wind, caught by the canoe-shaped sail, pulls him across the water at high speeds.
The kiteboarder deftly controls the long cables that enable him to direct his sail into the best position possible for his dash back and forth, over and across the top of the blue water.

Took a long, lovely drive up the coast of Southern California on Hallowe’en Sunday. The day was gorgeous, the water glorious and the traffic barely there. It was heaven.
One huge difference between Malibu and the less “elite” beaches of Southern California is the relative sparseness of human visitors. It’s really a nice change from crowded sands and virtually non-existent parking.
